The festivities and traditions in Montenero Valcocchiara
The patron saint of Montenero Valcocchiara, St. Clement the Martyr, is celebrated the first Sunday of August each year. On the feast of the patron saint back from the various nations almost all emigrants and the country is left with the splendors of the old days, when the long nights of July and August the streets and squares of the country were filled with people celebrating the short summer period.
In August under the patronage of the Molise Region, the province of Isernia and the City is organized the famous Rodeo Pentro which consists in taming wild horses to race Pentra. Thousands of visitors during the day of the rodeo participate in this great event, unique in the region and perhaps in Italy for its originality.
The December 6 people celebrate St. Nicholas. This festival is not as much room in the organization falls under a very critical aspect of the climate. In this period the country is almost always in the grip of ice that requires citizens to stay indoors to avoid health problems.
